That day….

While I was reading college stuff about spiritual leadership and encountered a Kalam story about Vikram Sarabhai and a Rev. Father I got reminded of that day. The day I woke up to Church bells and music, the day I felt at peace with God.
I vividly remember the peace that spread through me when I woke up from my cubicle chair one Sunday morning. I was alone on the Saturday night shift and might have slept off around 2 or 3 in the morning. Here I was blissful in sleep and dreaming about soft clouds possibly. The first few dongs of the bell woke me up. I sat up groggily but the bells started ringing louder and suddenly a mellifluous tune started playing. I could not help but get out of my seat and follow the tune. The small chapel was right behind the office compound and few tens of devotees had assembled for mass.
I walked right up to the gate of the chapel, mulled entering but decided not to. But I wanted to keep hearing the music and so started walking around the housing just across the road, always within hearing distance of the music. Reading about Abdul Kalam and his story, the same sense of peace filled me now! I remember only very few times in life when I have felt that way. And I would keep reminding myself how music, God and bliss are synonymous.
